This has been “confirmed” after measurements of 40 000 sites belonging to Web Metrics around the world.
Vince Vizzaccaro vice president of Web Metrics say they always thought that Firefox would compete with the big Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
Mozilla’s chief developer, Asa Dotzler. said that if kunnde access to five per cent we will survive, when we came up in 10 prcent we knew that we were in the game.
Now five years since the Firefox 1.0 days saw light as Firefox has been able to take 25% of users worldwide.

Are http:// soon dead?

Google is developing a new protocol that will make the loading of Web pages up to 55 percent faster. Google name for thee new standard are called spdy.
But to replace the http protocol. that soon will be 20 years old, will not be easy, Google says that the project is at an early stage, and one should not expect to be able to replace the http protocol in the coming years.
So now it remains to be seen whether we can agree on one standard, and this will proberly, i think, be an issue between Microsoft and Google.

amdVSintelProcessor manufacturer Intel will pay 1.25 billion dollars in a settlement to the rival AMD.
And suddenly, there are no disputes about patents, attempt at bribery and threats, between these two processes, manufacturers longer.
AMD has a lawsuit against Intel in the U.S. and two in Japan, and these will now be closed.
The companies have also signed a five-year agreement under which they will share the patent rights. They have also promised not to drag up old conflicts.
The relationship between the two companies have been littered with legal conflict for many years.
And last week came a new prosecution against Intel, which the Court of the United States accused of “systematic criminal activity” this is in many areas the same as AMD in 2005 accusing Intel of, Intel is accused of bribing computer manufacturers to only use Intel processors and threatened companies that work with AMD.

Also in Europe has heard voices against the dominant Intel applicable competition rules.
Earlier this year, demanded the commission company at the equivalent of 1 billion euros. This amount impact Intel’s earnings negatively for the second quarter.

software-pirateI read an article that software pirates have created new tools to turn off the copy protection in Windows 7, What a joke, Microsoft, has since version Windows 95, claimed that they now have stop the pirates. This is not, and will never be true. Those people who are hated by Microsoft, Adobe ect.ect. will always be one step ahead.

If we take Windows 7 for example, I know people who had this installed on their computers already 4-5 months ago, in which language they wanted. If they not find a pirated copy in their own language, there was language packs to download. They still use it without any problems, every time Microsoft comes out with something that is protected, then it does not take long before there is a “fix” for it.
I never updated my Windows XP version to Vista, heard so much negative about this OS, so it was never on my mind. But the update for Windows 7 was almost a must, but it costs.
Got my new computer today, and bought the Windows 7 Ultimatum, i am living in Spain want it in my own language, therefore you have to pay  189€ to get an authentic version of Ultimatum with the possibility to change language.
Expensive! But was it necessary? This question I leave to others to answer, I have at least a genuine version of Windows.

Windows update, again!

windowsupdate1Microsoft has now come up with new updates, as I said in one earlier article.

Microsoft recommends to install the MS09-065 from this week’s update packages directly, the update package sort out 15 different deficiencies but. MS09-65 is important because it bridges three vulnerabilities that exist in modern versions of Windows except Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. But for Windows 2000, XP and Server 2003, so the update is considered to be very important. Microsoft also says that it is not likely to for very long until it shows up malicious code that can exploit vulnerabilities in those versions.

confickerA year ago, the worm Conficker was found. By exploiting a vulnerability in Windows, could Conficker infected millions of computers.
Researchers at the Organization Shadow Server Foundation has announced that still, there are about seven million PCs infected by Conficker.

According to the organization Conficker Working Group consisting of several security companies is the worm commonly found in countries like China and Brazil. The reason is believed to be due to these countries, is  the number of computers running non-licensed versions of Windows, and therefore can not be updated with the latest security updates.
Despite the wide distribution of Conficker has it rarely been used to carry out any attacks on the Internet. The mask structure enables the author to send instructions to the worm to perform attacks through so-called botnets.

It is believed that the author is afraid. This worm has already caused so much trouble, and if  the author was arrested, he can look forward to a long time behind bars. Says Eric Sites, CTO of security company Sunbelt Software.

Moblin is updated to 2,1

moblin

Moblin OS (a Linux distribution) has just done a major update to version 2.1.
Some of the improvements is a revised browser with support for additional modules, support for 3g, bluetooth, new handlers for network connections, and scaling interface, to take advantage of a higher resolution.
Another novelty is that you can download the entire Moblin from a storage card, this makes it possible, if you want, run a test of Moblin before installing it.
However, it has still not support for AMD’s processors, and Moblin will not work with Nvidia or ATI graphics chips.

New updates from Microsoft

windows_7Next week will Microsoft releases new updates.
This is meant to close security holes in the new Windows 7. There are 15 security holes and bugs (in 6 update) that will be corrected. The number is about half of what was corrected last month.
3 of these updates will be labeled as critical and the other 3 marked important.

I have before put Windows 7 to the sky, and still think it’s a fantastic version that Microsoft have came out with, but it is still a bit scary that they proudly announces that it is fewer than last month, and still there are 15 security holes and bugs to be addressed.
